"Tree man" Bosch figurine
In this Bosch's Triptych called "The Garden of Earthly Delights", many recognise a self-portrait in one of Bosch’s most famous hybrid creatures. The hollow space in the egg-shaped body offers space for a pub. Music and dance may have lead to licentiousness, symbolised by the bagpipes on the headwear. In this triptych, Hiëronymus Bosch shows us how we mortal souls, arisen from earthly paradise, are on our way to the atrocious ordeals of hell via our unchaste lives on earth. Jheronimus Bosch is renown as the forerunner of surrealism, famous for his fantastic images in a hostile world full of mysticism from the Middle Ages.
Every figurine is painted by hand and all are delivered with a picture of the original work and a biography of the artist.
This workshop was originally specialized in restoration of religious paintings and sculptures. After the delicate work of restoring Artworks, these craftsmen with their unique skills decided to go further, still bringing life to paintings but this time by lifting images out of the flat surface. With the greatest respect for the original work, they make accessible and affordable the most beautiful works in the History of Art. Plus the originality of a three dimensions adaptation.
